Considering the immediate and medium-term requirements for quality manpower to fuel sustainable progress, the company invests in improving the quality of education on the island, public and private schools alike.

In 2009, the Applied Academic for Excellence (Apex) program designed by Seameo Innotech was completed. The PhP35 million program aimed to enhance the learning process through more active student participation, and was applied in the elementary and secondary schools on the island: Divine Word School of Semirara Island, Semirara National High School, and Tinogboc National High School.

The company continues to provide and upgrade learning facilities and materials to schools on the island. It targets to provide computers to the all the schools on the island, working with the Barangays Semirara, Alegria and Tinogboc to provide internet access to students.

It also recently piloted a program that provides a study hall for indigent students to encourage and/or enhance learning.

The Semirara Training Center, Inc., established in 2006 and accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, continues to provide quality vocational courses, attracting the youth from local communities. Graduates from these courses have reached 351 since 2006, almost 60% of which have been hired for various projects of the company.

In 2009, the company also sponsored trainings on plumbing, masonry, building wiring, and rough carpentry to augment the manpower requirements of construction activities on the island.

The company provides free education and health care to workers’ dependents.
